Our Very Merry Christmas!

We are finally back home after our week long celebration of Christmas with family. We celebrated our first Christmas with Braelyn the Sunday before Christmas and then headed to TN on Tuesday. We had our "Ervin" Christmas at my Mom's house Tuesday night and then did Christmas Eve with the Jones' and Christmas Day with the Disneys and the Hastys. Then we traveled to Middle TN to do have Christmas with my grandparents and some more Hastys. I believe there were 53 people there in my Pop & Granny's house!! It was the first time in a long time that all of our family was able to be there. Christmas was so sweet this year with our very special gift of our new little girl. We praise and thank the Lord for her. And we also praise Him for the gift of our new little niece, Mattie Michelle. She is 7 months old now and so cute! And we are awaiting the arrival of another addition to our family...my sister is pregnant with her third boy and due April 28th. We look forward to teaching Braelyn all about why we really celebrate Christmas. It seems so easy to get distracted with all the gift buying and preparations for all the activities surrounding Christmas. Aaron and I purchased a book "God's gift of Christmas" by John MacArthur and hope to make it a tradition to read together as a family each year.

So now we are back in Va and getting ready to make a decision about residency. Please say a prayer for God to give us wisdom and guidance and peace about where to go. We are choosing between Bristol, Knoxville, and Spartanburg, SC. We have to turn in our choices by Jan 23rd. Also, we are getting our house ready to sell. Please pray that God would give us wisdom in selling our house. We trust that He will provide someone to buy it in His timing. We should find out where we will be going for residency by February 15th.

I will be posting Christmas pics soon. I was so excited to find this new blog background. Oh, and everyone be sure to mark your calendars for May 30th.....Aaron's Med school graduation!!! There will be a party :) Happy New Year!

Well, time has been flying. We went for Braelyn's 2 month appt. today and she weighs a whole 10 lbs 2 oz! that pretty good since she was 6 lbs 1 oz at birth. She's also grown a little over 2 inches, and is now 22.5 inches long. She's a great baby. She even slept through the night last night for the 1st time!!! We've been busy with family visiting and these past 4 weeks we "moved" to Tennessee for my rotation in Bristol and Sonya stayed with her parents in Dandridge. We had a lot of fun seeing family and friends. Thanks to everyone who visited us and for everyone who made us some DELICIOUS meals! Here's a few pics to update what's beeng going on.

OUR BABY GIRL

Introducing Braelyn Evangelee Jones. She came into this world on Sept 18th, 2008 at 10:41 am. She weighed 6lbs 1 oz. She is 20 and 1/4th inches long. A world wide poll has been taken and the results show she's the most precious baby in the world. And her mommy and daddy agree. Thanks for all the prayers. God answered every one of the specific requests we asked Him for and we give Him All the praise for them and for our precious girl. I'm done typing now so here's the pics!

Little Miss Jones has a name!!!

Hello everyone..........well, we have finally decided on a name for our little girl :) ......

Braelyn Evangelee Jones

We wanted her to have a "family" name and a "spiritual" name. So, the "lyn" in Braelyn comes from Aaron's mom's name which is Kathy Lynn. And the "lee" in Evangelee comes from my middle name "lee", which is also after my grandmother Ervin. I came up with the first name and Aaron came up with the middle name from the name "Evangeline", and had the idea to just change the ending. Evangelee means "bearer of good news" and we are praying that she will be a messenger of God's good news to all those around her.
Sorry for the delayed update.........in this picture I am 34 WEEKS PREGNANT!! WOOHOO!! And feeling good, Praise the Lord!

Baby Shower Marathon!!!

We have been so BLESSED to have such wonderful friends and family showering us with baby gifts for Braelyn! Our first shower was Aug 16th at Mom's house and it was a great time of fellowship with friends and lots of family. Then on Sunday we had a shower at FBC Powell in Knoxville given by Aaron's sister and mom. It was amazing and so encouraging to recieve so many needed items!! God is so good to provide for our every need and we thank Him so much for all of our friends and family who have blessed us in this way. Katy, Mom, Me & Braelyn, Carla. Carla and Katy did such a great job decorating and preparing for this shower, and Mom too! The food was fabulous!!!!!
Gavin, Aaron, Me, Laura & Caryss, Kathy (Aaron's mom). I was so glad they could come!
Here we are at the church shower at Powell. Laura and Kathy did such a great job getting everything together! Everything was delicious, especially the punch! It was a lot of fun getting to see friends and family all weekend.

Baby Bedding & Belly update

Hello everyone, sorry for the delayed update. So, I am very excited because I think I finally found some baby bedding that I like!! You can let me know what you all think about it. I've included several pictures. It is hard to believe that she will be here in about 2 months!! I feel like there is still so much to do and to buy......I'm hoping that my showers will help out with that. I have two showers back in TN on the 16th & 17th. That should be a lot of fun!! I only have a week and a half left of my summer program and then a week of vacation!! woohoo! I am also excited about that. We are still deciding on the name......we think we have it, just going back and forth on spelling, and I think I'm nervous to announce it, because that means it is permanent!! Hope you all have a great week!

Here is my belly shot........can you believe I am 31 weeks pregnant? AHHHHHHH By the way, she is really getting active now, especially in the afternoon and evening. I love feeling her kick!

Baby Girls Everywhere

Here's the latest Ultrasound Picture of our baby. It looks like her mommy is wearing her out already! This was by far our favorite picture.
But here's another we liked too
Mom, Laura, and Caryss and Gavin went to visit Sarah and Martin in NJ and stopped by for a night each way. We always have lots of fun!
The 4th of July we went to Kingston with my family in Tennessee and I was able to get out on the water for a bit but I payed for it the next day! I 'm too old to be doing stuff like that now. Caryss really loved the tube ride and Gavin would have rather been eating ice cream! Here's my lovely bride at 27 weeks. She's looking HOT
Family Picture
Sonya was able to stop in Dandridge and see Alicia who was in visiting her family. She also got to see Tyler too.
We were sooooo excited to welcome Mattie Michelle Hasty into the family a few weeks ago, Michael (Sonya's brother) and Katy's new baby girl. As you can tell Colton was very interested in her!
Here's the proud parents heading home for the 1st time as a family
Here's Sonya's mom with the cake she made to welcome Mattie home. and yes it tastes as good as it looks!
Mattie liked the joke Aunt Sonya whispered into her ear. She puts a grin on when Sonya holds her
Uncle Aaron is boring. I only put her to sleep with my jokes
Here's a close up of Mattie, Holding Daddy's finger
Here's the happy new family again.
Here's Mattie trying to figure things out. She had a big day
1 of 13,937 kisses she received that day (but probably her favorite)!
that's it. thanks for looking. We are doing good up here in VA. I'm in my 4th year rotations and Sonya is working at her summer program for the last time ever! We are DANGEROUSLY close to a name and we'll let everyone know when we have it for sure.

We'll take any ideas in the comments section. Remember it's a girl. We do thank Laura for all her ideas! Not a whole lot is new here. Sonya is on vacation this week and I'm taking tests at school till Thur. But I do take my step 2 national board exam June 17th and PE exam on July 2. thanks so much for praying for us!
