World Medical Mission is the medical arm of the international Christian relief organization Samaritan’s Purse (President-Franklin Graham). WMM partners with nearly 40 evangelical mission hospitals whose needs are great. Medicine is a powerful tool for evangelism and World Medical Mission has seen firsthand how effective mission hospitals can be in reaching people for Christ. Since 1977, they have been sending short-term volunteer physicians and dentists to established evangelical mission hospitals. All of these hospitals provide a tremendous outreach to many underserved areas meeting not only the physical needs but spiritual needs as well.
Samaritan’s Purse and World Medical Mission have developed the Post-Residency Program to provide the necessary encouragement and support to young physicians who feel the Lord calling them to a career in missions and to help bridge the gap between residency training and full time missions. We are very thankful to have learned about this Post-Residency Program and are excited to be begin serving our two year term this fall at Kapsowar Mission Hospital in Kenya.
